About us
We are Mark and Ilona, together Foto Milo. We live in Emmen (Drenthe) with our two daughters, Sherren and Daniek. Milo combines our names and represents our shared love of photography.
We enjoy photographing people and capturing special moments. From a relaxed portrait session to an event full of atmosphere. We want you to feel comfortable, leaving room for spontaneous smiles and photographs that feel like you.
Mark’s interest in photography started at a young age. At fourteen, he bought his first digital camera: a Canon PowerShot A60. He experimented with settings and discovered how much a camera could capture.
Today, we are taking the next step together as Foto Milo. Each with our own perspective, and both enjoying the process of making photographs.
From small details in nature to people in front of the camera: we photograph what draws our attention.
Everyone has their own story. We enjoy bringing a little of that story into a portrait. It doesn’t have to be complicated: sometimes it’s simply a look, a gesture or an unexpected moment.
A relaxed atmosphere and trust matter to us. Whether we are photographing outdoors or creating a close-up portrait, we take the time to make photographs together that feel right for you.
At events, we capture the atmosphere, the people and the small details. Photographs that let you look back on a special day.
Alongside our photography together, Mark still enjoys heading into nature with his camera. From flowers and insects to animals and landscapes, there is always something to discover.
Macro photography holds a special place for him. It means taking a moment to notice details you might otherwise walk past and showing how beautiful they are up close. Walking with his camera also gives Mark a chance to relax and clear his head.
Mark also enjoys photographing animals. A long journey isn’t always necessary: with his telephoto lens, he finds plenty to photograph at the zoo. From a curious glance to the details of fur or feathers.
